Spring 2010

Oh how we love spring, the parks, and the crazy kids so excited to get outside finally and play.

yeah it has been awhile. So, here goes:
Addy's birthday was fun. we had a pink princess cake that she absolutlely adored.

I bought a fancy new bike that I love and want to do a sprint triathalon this summer. we shall see, I really can't swim without a life jacket. thanks parents for building a pool after I left home.

Porter had a birthday and got a bike and we had a spiderman birthday cake. We had some friends over and it was so fun. thanks to everyone that celebrated with us.

Aaron graduated from Weber State with a masters in Healthcare Administration.

I ran the salt lake half marathon with my friend Tiff. (she kicked my trash, she is my inspiration)

We are remodeling the bathroom which is taking a lot longer than expected.

As for this last week both kids are sick now with fevers and crankiness. gotta love it. oh, and we could talk about the differences of when a boy gets sick vs girls. boys are such babies.

Don't they say something about idle hands, yeah we don't have any, especially the kids they are always into something.

dancing to girls just wanna have fun.

the kids love to have dance parties in the kitchen. they both have really developed some pretty awesome moves. their favorite song right now is girls just wanna have fun. So, here are some pics of the events. Porter was more photo friendly than Addy she did not to be documented.

Aaron would probably rather not have Porter documented either due to the really cute outfit he picked out.

CHRISTMAS 2009

Christmas is so fun with a 3yr old, and since Addy thinks she is as old as Porter she pretended to get it too. Porter was also very willing to help her open presents and play with her toys. We all received great toys. So, I got this fancy flip camcorder from Santa and made this little movie of our Christmas. but so far I cant figure out how to post it. I am not so tech savvy.

Ok I think I got it figured out......

Christmas was a success. As Porter says "well Santa ate the cookies and eggnog so he must have liked them and left us presents." later he said perplexed "but Santa forgot superman". ha ha you should have seen his list. Santa had to forget somethings. Thanks to everyone who sent holiday wishes and gifts. It was a very fun year.

So, we celebrated Christmas at home then we went up to Idaho and while getting ready for Idaho one of my favorite sayings came out. Aaron had been talking on the phone to his mom and handed the phone to Porter. Porter hit the ended button and threw the phone in a fit of frustration stating he wanted to talk to grandma, and Aaron says, "Well, you could if you just acted like an adult." ha ha ,don't we all wish our kids would act like adults sometime and then again it would not be as fun.

Idaho was fun we spent time with family and even got some adult time with Aaron's brothers and wives as we went to dinner and a movie. Aaron and I decided we just are not the movie kind of people we liked the movie but could not stand the hours of previews. It is so much better to watch them at home with the kids in bed of course.

We got a Wii for the family this year and I will admit that Porter kicks our trash in sword fighting, we lose in about 2.3 sec. But it has been fun to play with the family instead of watching TV most of the time.

Wedding Bliss

We went up to Seattle a couple weeks ago to Corina's Wedding and my parents watched the kids. It was amazing to see how fast we could get up and go somewhere. It was a long drive but it was fun to be with Aaron's family and get away from the responsibilities of parenting for awhile. We had a lot of fun and stayed up later than we have in years thanks to an 80's DJ with an awesome mullett. thanks mullett man. But It was fun to get back to the kids.
This last weekend was Eric and Calene's wedding and the kids came with us to that one. We stopped 3 times in a 2 hour drive for food and potty and Porter talked the entire way up. Luckily they slept the entire way home.
Congratulations to the new couples.

Porter MD

I got the H1N1 flu shot on mon and then last night after work I was soooo sick. Nausea that if I rolled over in bed I had to run to the toilet then had diarrhea on top of that. I was suppose to work today but called in so this morning Porter jumped into my bed and said "Mommy, I will make you better. say ahhh, (so I opened my mouth and said ah)"then he started doing compressions on my chest. It hurt so I said ouch. and he said "good just spit it out mom, just spit out the sick. now, do it again, say ahhh" and he continued on my chest. then he said "it is really hard mom. (rubbing my ribs) but I am waaay strong and I have lots of energy, so I will make you better." I think it really worked. It made me laugh and they say laughter is the best medicine. so, thank you Porter md.

Our Adventures in Poo Corner

Back when I was a little girl my parents would take us down the dirt road, over the railroad tracks, under the gate, and through the cow pasture to get to Poo corner. We loved it especially in the fall. So, I was called off of work today after 4 hours so, I picked up the kids and we went to my parents house in Morgan. I pick up my nephew Carson on the way (he is about Porter's age). My Mom thought it would be fun to take the 4 wheelers for a ride. Then we decided to go to Poo Corner. So, over the railroad track, over the big gate, through the cow pasture (Carson said: If you see a dark poop will you point to it and say "Dark Poop!"?-those are the fresh ones.) then we walked through the tall grass, crossing the streams over logs, until we got to the grove of trees that I remember so well. the kids had fun blancing on low limbs and hanging from the higher ones. we even had a bouncing tree. It was so fun and the kids were so cute. and of course I did not even think to bring a camera. So, now these memories are only in our heads. Adalynne sang most of the way sitting on my shoulders while Carson found every coolest rock and stick and held on to them to take home and show his brother, and Porter was very very careful with every step he took, he was very concerned about the Dark POop. then on the way back to grandmas we stopped and pet the horses on the side of the road. One licked Carson on the face then my mom on the ear, it was quite friendly. what a wonderful day. thanks mom for taking us to Poo Corner.

On the way home Addy was playing with Carson and oh yeah If I could bottle up those two giggling the whole world would smile.

Roarrrr

I have had a sinus infection for 12 days now. I finally went to the instacare yesterday to get some antibiotics. I have been hearing impaired for 10 days and I am not looking forward to old age. I took Adalynne into the room with me and we were reading a book about animals when as the doctor was walking into the room Addy let out this enormous RROARRRR. The doctor jumped about a mile and started laughing so hard I thought she was about to pee her pants as she walked out of the room to compose herself. Then she came back in but throughout our discussion every time she looked at Addy she started laughing. She was less impressed with my sinus problems and more impressed that that roar came out of little Adalynne.

Anyone that goes to church with us knows she really knows how to ROAR.
