What was I thinking?

I signed up for the wasatch back with some of my friends in october. I have been training since december and let me tell you I sould have trained harder. The race was this last weekend and I am pretty sure I will never do it again. I don't mind running but I really like sleeping and running close to 10 miles at 3 am when I should have been sleeping was not great. then waiting around in a smelly car as it rained and rained on the our next run waiting for the first group to finish and not getting to do more than lay our head on the seat for sleep. Then getting out and thinking " ok, I can run this hill" then a mile into it was thinking who in their right mind can run this thing, I am pushing my legs to walk up it. It was hard to know when to eat so you don't get side cramps and your so nervous for you next run it is hard to eat, you pee constantly. But, I will say it was fun hanging out with friends, seeing all fo the die hard runners and the crazy people who go all out dressed up for the race. I will post pictures when I get them from my friends. I just want to say good job guys to my team members Jamie for running in the down pour and freezing wind and never giving up, Kevin for running like he had trained for years but never really did, and Sara for never complaining, and everyone for being supportive and dedicated to the team. So for all of you who enjoy running, don't like eating, you like being nervous for 36 hours, and definitely staying up for 48 hours, sign up it is a lot of fun. Go WASATCH BACK.

Potty Power!!

Porter has Potty Power. My friend Kelli Despain told me about this dvd along time ago but I never forgot how great she said it was at helping kids potty train. And Yes after 3 days straight of POTTY POWER Porter now is potty trained. He now has not had an accident in almost 2 weeks and only wet the bed 2 times. yeah Porter I am so proud of you. As for Adalynne she is in diapers still, she can't hold it. but she still tries to sit on the potty and go fully dressed and diapered. I love her effort. Thank you Kelli.

wishful thinking

I have 5 days off of work, so, I decided it was time to Potty train Porter and since Adalynne throws a complete fit if Porter gets to go potty or wear underwear I decided to attempt them both at the same time. (Adalynne has told me she needed to go poop at times and likes to say I gotta go with Porter) So, I thought if Porter (who knows how to go potty he just does not want to mess with it) taught Adalynne maybe it would work. So, we got all of the supplies, an extra potty, panties, dvds, prizes, etc. Well, here's what happened, Porter refused to put on undies until he was bribed, then when Adalynne woke up from her nap we put her in panties and Porter showed her how to go. She went once then was running around the house. she pretty much had an accident every 15 min (wants to but physically not ready). needless to say she is done. Porter then decided that if she could wear a diaper so could he. so, for day #1(so far) addy 1/5 and out, Porter 2/4 and 1 poop way to go guys. I am doing laundry. 4 more days to go. It is sooo fun.

WOW Where has the time gone?

where does the time go? Porter had a birthday and had some friends over to the park to play and hang out. here are some cute pics, (Porter did not want to get in the group pic, sad boy).

So, Easter we went up to Pocatello and went to an easter egg hunt on sat. then hung out with the fam for the rest of the weekend. The Easter Egg hunt was at a public park and it was roped off with thousands of egg and toys in the middle. All of the kids and parents were waiting outside of the rope with anticipation for the horn to be blown in which all the kids ran in picked up as many as possible. The hunt lasted about 30 seconds. Here are some pics of Adalynne waiting for the horn.

when the horn was blown she had her eye on a little yellow teddybear she beeline to the bear and stopped and did not go anyfurther. So, like the slightly sly mother that I am I picked up a couple (2) eggs for her so she would have some candy when she realized what she missed out on. It was fun, the kids really did load up on sugar.

My sister in law asked If I would run the race for the cure with her and I was so excited to run it esp. with here. Her mother is fighting breast cancer right now. I invited my friend Tiff and we all ran it under 27.5 min. way to go girls.

Aaron got a new job at IHC as a revenue analyst or something good times. I love you babe.

Well, I have to go to work. hopefully I can post more and catch up soon.

I did it!

I don't know what got into me on Friday but I decided to run the salt lake 1/2 marathon. I had been training for the Wasatch Back and had been pretty comfortable running 5-6 miles, but had never gone any further than that. But, Ive wanted to run at least a 1/2 marathon forever, but never really wanted to train for it. So, without any pressure from anyone, I wanted to be like my friends that were running it and decided it was probaby now or never, so, i signed up. It was an early morning, waking up at 5 am, and a little chilly. but once I passed mile 2 and found a portapotty (because all i could think about for 2 miles is "oh i am going to loose it.") it was really good. Mile 11 was tough my body hurt but I kept thinking the pain would go away but the satisfaction of finishing never would. So, I kept running. then the 1st full marathon runner passed me running like it was no big deal, Can you believe running 26 miles practically sprinting the whole way? Eventually I did cross the finish line, slow but sure. I will have to say I am quite proud of myself. now, my knees hurt, my legs ache, I am dehydrated and I think that is why i have a terrible headache and all of my toes hurt. But, I am still so glad I took the chance to accomplish something I've always wanted to do, and I didn't have to train as hard as I thought (although I probably should have and I wouldn't hurt so bad right now.

Aaron did not bring a camera, and although he was at the finish line did not see me cross the finish line so he took this pic with my phone afterwards.

It was really sunny as I finished hence the face.

a house full of sickies

To start out with the kids had shots a couple weeks ago so about 1 week ago the fevers began. the whining the mommy i wanna hold ya, the runny noses (they are constant though). then Aaron started feeling sick with a sore throat. Well, Aaron knows that he is allergic to milk esp. when he is sick what he didn't know is that the whey protien shake he was drinking as part of a new diet was the actual protien that he is allergic to. So, after drinking one of his shakes while he was sick he puffed up like the stay puft marshmello man, and was having difficulty breathing. Instead of going to the ER at which he was right across the street he decided to go the outpatient pharmacy and get some benadryl. Luckily it worked in time so his throat did not close off completely. But his face was puffy all day. And he did see a doctor and he did have strep throat. That night Porter woke up puking up his guts and screaming, freaked out like he was loosing himself. this happened a few times and when I ran out of blankets and linens for his bed he slept with me. He was sauna. He continued to have a fever and throwning up the next day. which is when I noticed Addy's eyes were full of sticky yellow discharge and had a rash all over her belly. I sighed and made and appointment with the pediatrician. Aarons and Addy are on abx. Porter just had a 24 hour bug. Everyone is better now. Yeah!!!

Its a celebration

Adalynne turned one on sat. the 28th. So, we went out for breakfast then to my parents house to swim since our power was scheduled to be out for the day. We had a lot of fun swimming and playing with grandma and grandpa. Then, on sunday we had a birthday party with cake and icecream. It was a great time. Poter helped with the cakes and helped open presents, and play with the gifts, what a good helper.

the saddest part is the dress she is wearing is one of my favorites and the zipper was stuck and we could not get it off of her before the cake, so we left it on then cut it off afterwards.

So my father was able to come down and install our floors last week, and I love them so much. The kitchen is not finished yet, there a few more finishing touches. But, the fridge is in the kichen and the dishwasher is installed. And MY FLOOR IS NOT HELD TOGETHER WITH DUCT TAPE. YEAH!!!

all worth it

We went snowboarding on Friday and it has definitly been too long. Between being super duper pregnant and having little kids and no money I havn't been as much as I would like. So, we got up on the mountain and I remembered my feet have grown since I had Addy and my snowpants aren't really water proof any more. So, I didn't wear socks and just delt with the wet. The first run was a little slow and challenging but, by the end of the day I was back in the groove (too bad it takes so long). Regardless, it was so fun and so great to be back on the hill. Now, I am just a little sore. Still worth it.
